The City of Golden (City) proposed improvements to the U.S. Highway 6 and 19th Street intersection, partially in Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) right‐of‐way. As a subcontractor to the City’s engineering firm, ERO prepared a CDOT Documented Categorical Exclusion, which required preparation of various reports and assessments, including the following:
- Biological Resources Report
- Cultural Resources Assessment
- Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
- SB 40 Wildlife Certification
- Section 4(f) Enhancement Exception letter
- Wildlife Crossing Report
- Wetland Delineation and Wetland Finding Report
- Noxious Weed Management Plan
- Minor Resources Technical Report (including socioeconomics, Environmental Justice, prime farmlands, land use, floodplains, transportation and safety, right‐of‐way, parks/recreation resources, and Section 4(f) and 6(f) resources)
ERO also managed subcontractors for several resources, including visual, air quality, noise, and paleontology. The project contained many complexities and required a high level of coordination with the City and CDOT environmental staff. In addition, ERO developed numerous mitigations to minimize impacts on the resources listed above.
