For several years, ERO has been providing overall environmental compliance for the Thornton Water Project, a 73-mile water transmission project from Fort Collins to Thornton. This work includes coordinating with the Corps and strategizing with the city to avoid impacts on jurisdictional open waters or wetlands.
As part of this effort, ERO completed wetland delineations, Section 404 permitting, jurisdictional determinations, habitat assessments, raptor surveys, prairie dog surveys, burrowing owl surveys, migratory bird surveys, cultural resource surveys and reports, environmental record reviews, material management plans, waste management coordination, and asbestos abatement.
In support of the Larimer County 1041 permit, ERO prepared a wildlife assessment and conservation plan, wetland assessment and mitigation plan, as well as paleontological, historic, and archaeological resources reports. ERO also attended and assisted with public hearings. In addition, ERO has supported 1041 permitting efforts for Adams and Weld Counties.
To support compliance with the Endangered Species Act and MBTA, ERO has provided coordination with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).
