ERO recently completed environmental compliance support for the Monument Connector Trail in Grand Junction, a project partially funded by Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) and completed in partnership with the Colorado West Land Trust. The project required Bureau of Land Management (BLM) authorization and involved extensive coordination to meet federal and state environmental regulations.
ERO conducted rare plant surveys and monitoring, conducted cultural and paleontological resource surveys and monitoring, and provided permitting support under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). Our team also supported consultation with the State Historic Preservation Office and facilitated tribal coordination to ensure compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act.
The trail is now complete, connecting important community and recreation spaces while protecting sensitive environmental and cultural resources along the way. ERO is proud to have supported this effort from initial surveys through project completion.
