Denise Larson has worked as an ecologist since 1993 conducting wetland, vegetation, and threatened and endangered (T&E) species surveys. She has worked with a variety of federal, state, and local agencies on permitting issues for wetlands, T&E species, and other environmental concerns. As part of the permitting process, she has designed numerous wetland mitigation sites and other revegetation sites for government and private land owners. SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE Wetland Investigations. Denise has experience delineating wetlands throughout the Rocky Mountain Region, Great Plains, and Alabama. She has worked with clients on permitting issues completing US Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permits and Individual Permits and preparing the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Wetland Findings. As part of the permitting process, Denise has designed a variety of wetland mitigation sites from prairie potholes in Montana, to riparian wetlands along Big Dry Creek in Colorado and assisting with the design of a 20-acre mitigation bank. Threatened and Endangered Species. Denise has conducted numerous surveys for threatened and endangered plant species and Forest Service Sensitive species in the Rocky Mountain Region. She also has designed mitigation sites for impacts to Preble's meadow jumping mouse habitat as approved by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Environmental Impact Assessment & Permitting. Denise has contributed her expertise to wetland, vegetation, and T&E assessments for several Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements in Colorado and Wyoming. Open Lands Planning and Management. Denise has conducted vegetation and wetland studies for several municipalities to help them acquire and protect parks and open space. She has assisted in the design of revegetation plans that support well balanced management of open space areas. |
