Craig Sommers is president of ERO Resources Corporation, and has over 30 years of consulting experience in land, water, and environmental resources. He is the lead scientist or economist on a wide variety of projects addressing coordination and testimony in complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution, water rights and water resource evaluations, Endangered Species Act and NEPA compliance, economic analyses and appraisals, soil surveys and land classification, land use planning, and agronomy. Summary of Experience Water Resources. Craig has managed water resource projects throughout the West since 1978. Many of these projects have involved litigation and negotiation of basin-wide water rights disputes. He has conducted feasibility studies for new water development projects, as well as appraisals for the sale and transfer of existing water rights and facilities. A number of projects have involved the interrelationship of water quantity and quality, wildlife, and riparian vegetation. Natural Resource Investigations. Craig has completed a wide variety of natural resource studies involving wildlife and vegetation field investigations, soil surveys, land classifications, mined land reclamation plans, and threatened and endangered species issues. He has prepared habitat conservation plans and permit applications using the results of these studies. Environmental Impact Assessment and Permitting. Craig has managed or provided input on numerous environmental impact statements (EISs), environmental assessments (EAs), and permit applications. He has contributed to soil, vegetation, wildlife, erosion control, economics, water quality, and hydrology studies. These environmental analyses have led to successful completion of water, highway, mining, and ski area projects. |
